More About Balance Bikes
The key to our balance bike is its patented technology, allowing our bike riders to be low to the ground. Most importantly, this gives the rider a very low center of gravity, making it much easier to balance than a normal bike. While some riders might be afraid on a taller bike, this is only because their higher center of gravity makes the bike more tipsy and more likely to topple over. Riders will be able to feel more comfortable much faster when they start off low to the ground on a balancebike. This unique design also makes the bike able to balance at a very slow speed: only 2 miles per hour. This way, a hesitant rider does not need to gain a high speed before he can balance easily. This allows riders to go at there own pace, gliding faster only when they have gained the confidence from balancing at a slower speed. Being low to the ground makes falls less likely. Children have less distance to fall off our balance bike than a normal bike, so the chances are reduced and the risk of injury from a fall is virtual eliminated. Lastly, balance bikes are built to be ultra light, the Mini Glider weighing only eight pounds. In the event of a fall, the bike is not heavy enough to pin the rider beneath it, making recovery easier and less frightening. This give the rider more control over it and allows them to recover or prevent tipping over altogether. When a rider is able to get up, brush off, and realize they haven’t been hurt by falling, they will be more likely to want to get back on the bike and try again. In short, balancebikes are a great tool that can increase confidence by learning safely. Each balance bike is are geared toward different age groups and learning needs, so be sure to look through them and choose the correct one. Call if your not sure 910-524-1151.
